Otoplasty*
One month post op pictures of a bilateral otoplasty to reduce the angle of her protruding ears. In the second set of pictures notice how the normal anatomy of the ear is created and preserved while pulling the ears back to a more pleasing position.
Otoplasty*
Postoperative views of a seven-year-old girl who underwent a unilateral right otoplasty. The patient had presented with bilateral protruding ears with the right ear being more severe than the left. The parents opted not to have the left ear corrected at this time and desired to have only the right ear brought into harmony and symmetry with the left ear. Although the right ear had an excess amount of cartilage causing somewhat of a cup deformity, because it was felt there was equal excessive cartilage and cup deformity in both ears, that no cartilage would be corrected from the right ear. The primary deformity in the right ear was the lack of an antihelical fold that resulted in a lop ear deformity. She also had Darwin tubercle prominence on the most superior aspect of her right helix. The right otoplasty technique involved only placement of sutures via a posterior incision in order to reform the antihelix and set back the right ear so that it had a similar appearance to the left ear. As can be seen in the lateral view of her ear, this was all accomplished while maintaining a naturally shaped and anatomically correct ear.

Two month follow-up on a young lady who underwent correction of a lop/protruding ear congenital deformity As can be noted in her preoperative picture, the patient’s ears were protruding at an excessive angle to her skull secondary to a combination of excessive ear cartilage and lack of an anti-helical fold. This deformity was corrected using a combination of cartilage correction and cartilage bending with suture technique. All incisions are hidden behind the ear and over time will heal with a practically undetected scar. As can be noted on the lateral view, the newly shaped ear now has more aesthetically pleasing contours and folds.
Otoplasty*
Post-operative view of a patient who underwent otoplasty for correction of prominent and over-protruding ears. Ears are now set back in a more natural and anatomically correct position. The patient elected to have the procedure done entirely under local anesthesia and tolerated the surgery well without any discomfort. As can be seen in the early post-operative period, the ears are still slightly swollen in appearance but already are more aesthetically pleasing.
Otoplasty*
Young patient who presented for correction of lop/protruding ear deformity and correction rhinoplasty. Two year post-op results demonstrates maintenance of ear in normal anatomic position and shape. Nose is now more narrowed and defined with small bump on dorsum corrected.
